Dawnita J. Wilson

As WETA’s Chief People and Culture Officer, Dawnita is responsible for developing and leading the organizations multi-year Human Resources (HR) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategies, focused on driving sustainable behavioral and cultural change. As a member of the senior leadership team, Dawnita works closely with WETA’s CEO and other key stakeholders to build human capital and advance DEI across all programs and services throughout WETA and its subsidiary, News Hour Productions.

Dawnita has been a successful leader for over 15 years and has worked across multiple industries within Global and U.S. based organizations, including Healthcare, Hospitality (at one of the world’s largest food service and facilities management companies), Real Estate, and others. As a trusted thought leader and business partner, she has successfully implemented transformational frameworks that have been the catalyst for advancing workplace DEI efforts and evolving HR systems, practices, and processes. Her passion and commitment to her work continues to drive results and make a difference, both internally and externally.

Dawnita holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree from La Roche University in Pittsburgh. She has also maintained her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification since 2006.
