This month's program features a November 2023 concert by Ken-David Masur who stepped in for the ailing Michael Tilson Thomas. Masur led the orchestra in Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” Symphony as well as Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 with soloist Orion Weiss. Also featured, Karina Canellakis' NSO debut in a November 2022 concert with Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra.

    You’ve heard of the 3 Bs (Bach, Beethoven and Brahms)? Well, this month’s NSO Showcase features 3 composers whose names begin with the letter “S”. NSO Music Director Gianandrea Noseda will lead the orchestra in 2 works by Kennedy Center Composer-in-Residence Carlos Simon, Dmitri Shostakovich’s 6th Symphony, and Igor Stravinsky’s complete Firebird ballet.
