Season 2 continues with visits to Brookland, Bowie and Reston
December 20, 2021 (Arlington, VA) — WETA’s locally produced house-hunting and neighborhood history show, If You Lived Here, returns with new episodes starting January 24 at 9 p.m. on WETA PBS and 8 p.m. on WETA Metro. A total of 10 new episodes will air Mondays through March 28.
“Season 2 of If You Lived Here spotlights some incredible neighborhoods in the Washington, D.C. metro area,” said Miguel Monteverde, senior vice president and general manager, WETA Greater Washington. “We tour amazing homes in each community, but it’s the history and unique neighborhood stories that really make the show something special.”
If You Lived Here pairs hosts Christine Louise and John Begeny with a local realtor who guides them through tours of three properties: a starter home, a mid-level, and a “dream house.” While trying to guess the listing price of the homes, Christine and John also learn about the fabric of each neighborhood: the people, history and overall vibe that make the community unique.
The January 24 episode will feature Brookland, D.C., also known as “Little Rome,” and includes a tour of the former home of jazz great Shirley Horn. Next up will be visits to Bowie, Maryland; Mount Pleasant in D.C.; and Reston, Virginia. Season 2 kicked off with four episodes that aired in October 2021: Hillcrest in D.C.; Falls Church, Virginia; Capitol Hill; and Del Ray in Alexandria, Virginia.
Hosts Christine Louise and John Begeny are producers at WETA and also happen to be best friends who love house hunting. The longtime colleagues created local WETA documentaries such as Discovering Washington: Through the Lens; The Washington Cherry Blossoms: A Gift of Friendship, winner of a National Capital/Chesapeake Bay Emmy Award; and a trilogy of films tracing the evolution of historic Alexandria from the city’s early years to the present day.
The new episodes of If You Lived Here will air on Mondays at 9 p.m. on WETA PBS and 8 p.m. on WETA Metro.
