PBS News Student Reporting Labs (SRL) is a hands-on journalism training program that connects young people to real-world experiences and educators to resources and community. SRL is seeking our next Video Production Intern to support video content projects across the department. The Video Production Intern will be an integral part of the SRL team and have opportunities to develop content, brainstorm ideas, and support department projects while developing journalism and production skills. We are looking for a strong video editor interested in supporting student voice, with a preference for applicants experienced in filming and camerawork. Candidates must be active college students.

The Prospect Research Manager is a brand-new role at WETA/PBS News Hour. The new Manager will build out this function and innovate in collaboration with WETA’s fundraising teams and the Senior Director, Data Strategy & Development Services. The successful Manager partners closely with WETA's fundraising teams to implement new methodologies and provide strategic direction on current and prospective donors with major/principal gift capacity. The Manager will support the gift officers and department leaders by taking a leadership role in designing and implementing WETA’s prospect research strategy and analytics.
The News Assistant program is designed to give recent college graduates practical experience in a broadcast news setting. During their tenure, News Assistants are exposed to many aspects of producing a nightly television news program. The Foreign Affairs News Assistant will work directly with the foreign affairs unit to assist with logging video, gathering footage, research, guest outreach and field shoots. The News Assistant will work with the foreign affairs unit for 9 months, during which the News Assistant will also rotate through control room and studio shifts, assisting the anchors and other producers with scripts and other crucial needs of the daily broadcast. The News Assistant will then work with the digital team for another 3 months to assist with online production of the PBS News Hour.
The Video Production Assistant (PA), Digital is responsible for the management and publishing of all broadcast media to the PBS NewsHour and Washington Week websites on weekend and select work week evenings. In addition, the PA is responsible for a diverse range of writing, research, editing, production and tracking services to support the work of PBS News, PBS News Weekend and Washington Week. The PA exercises independent judgment and collaborates with the senior digital and editorial newsroom leadership and other members of the PBS News organization, in the coordination of the many production elements involved with publishing a daily news online.
